Mas Saint Damien, farmhouse in Provence
Holiday rental sleeping 18 in 8/9 bedrooms
Large swimming pool & private tennis court
A wonderful old stone Provencal farmhouse built in 1620 but with a barn conversion added so that it now sleeps 8 to 18 people in 8/9 bedrooms (two buildings) with 7 bath or shower rooms, as well as three large reception rooms and a new beautifully equipped kitchen.
This substantial family house in a lovely setting has a large swimming pool (6m x 12m) and new floodlit tennis court with uninterrupted views over the Vaucluse plateau. The charming gated courtyard has various areas to sit in both sun and shade and is the perfect setting for long Provencal meals. The garden extends to 10 acres, part cultivated and part left wild for spring flowers and almond, fig, cherry, apple and pear trees. There are various terraces and a gazebo by the pool for lunchtime or evening drinks; from the top terrace with its stone tables you can join in with those playing boule or simply sit back and enjoy the sunset. The land is surrounded by vineyards, fruit orchards and mountain views towards the Luberon.
The farm house and barn wrap around a large floodlit courtyard with an old olive tree at its centre. There is a 3 metre oak table in the shade, additional tables, and chairs for 18 as well as both gas and charcoal barbeques.
The house has broadband Wi-Fi access.
An excellent cook is available locally if you would like some meals catered for you.
